Forbes recently presented the argument for both specialists and generalists. “Specialist” jobs are the fastest growing job category, and corporate recruiters are willing to pay a premium to hire “specialists.” By contrast, Bill Gates credited the success of Microsoft to generalists with broad knowledge.
